120-mm Towed Gun 2B16 "Nona-K"

Drawing on combat experience in Afghanistan, in 1986 for land forces was developed and adopted 120-mm towed gun 2B16 "Nona-K". Unlike the self-propelled variant the "Nona-K" barrel has a recoil brake, which absorbs up to 30 % of the recoil energy. As a standard 120-mm gun 2B16 is towed by truck GAZ-66, but UAZ-469 can also cope this task.
TAG 2B16 is the universal artillery piece combining features of mortar and a gun. This gun features small combat weight (1,2 t), low height of fire line (0,66 m), small dimensions, unsur-passed mobility of fire characterized by a wide firing range.
TAG 2B16 exhibits the destructive power of a high-explosive projectile at the target compared with the effect of 152-155-mm high-explosive projectile. TAG 2B16 can fire with all types of 120-mm native and foreign mortar shells.
