Metallurgic production
Metallurgic production of the Motovilikha works represents the sophisticated technological complex for steel producing, forging, stamping, producing of hot-rolled flats and bars, it also has all kinds of metallurgical conversion.
Electric arc furnace DSP-60 manufctured by FUCHS Systemtechnik company is the core of our metallurgical production. This furnace is equipped with automatic control system, which allows us to produce 60 tones of liquid steel in 70 minutes with minimal power consumption.
Ladle-furnace is an automatic system for the purpose of steel treatment. Within 40 — 60 minutes it can bring steel to the specified chemical composition with minimal content of gases and nonmetallic inclusions.
Steel teeming is carried out on the four automatic continuous steel teeming machines. Teeming platforms are located at a height of 21 meters. Two single-strand plants are intended for slabs, two three-strand plants — for bloom production.
This complex also consists of four electroslag remelting (ESR) furnaces, which are meant to produce special-purpose ingots.
Flats are produced on the plate mill «2000» (combined with slitting and transverse cutting shears and straightening machine), bars on the heavy section mill «710» and the light-section mill «350» (with hot saws, cooling bank and gaging machine).
Our forging shops are equipped with 1500, 2000 and 3000 t presses; each of them is equipped with floor track-riding manipulator.
Stampings of different configuration are manufactured on the forging hammers with the 1 — 6 t head weight and 450 and 700 t hydraulic presses.
Steel produced by Motovilikha works is distinguished by low content of the harmful elements and nonmetallic inclusions. Upon customers request our specialists can develop different variations of chemical composition of steel. Thanks to almost all kinds of heat treatment available at the Motovilikha Works we are able to find solutions how to strengthen rolled metal, forgings, stampings within the steel composition potential capability.
We have developed quality management system, which includes up-to-date non-destructive inspection methods, e.g. ultrasonic, magnetic, luminescent and X-ray inspection. It allows us to find the flaws in time and to check the macro- and microstructure of the forgings, stampings and rolled metal.
Metallurgic complex is one of the investment priorities of the Motovilikha Works. In the years 2008—2009 it was re-equipped with the air separation unit and the new 3000 t forging plant and oxygen and vacuum degassing machine made by Italian company Danelli.
Thanks to our modern special equipment we are able to carry out individual orders, low-tonnage batches and to meet special requirements of our customers.
Motovilikha Work’s products are highly appreciated in Russia and in foreign countries.
Since our products are certified under requirements of such international standards as Lloyd’s Register (UK), DNV (Norway) and building units "SLV"-"U" (Germany) a part of our products is being exported to Europe.
